Why We Lead as a team

Many have had experiences with church traditions where one person, usually the “Senior Pastor” or “Lead Pastor” is the main teacher and the keeper of the vision.

When it comes to leadership, we see the team approach within the scriptures. This expression for church leadership is explicit in the New Testament and not derived from a surrounding corporate structure. The single-leader model is found in the Old Testament with such leaders as Moses and David, but they were used at a time when God was trying to build a nation, not a spiritual church (or what is called a “body”).

Therefore, our leadership is a community of leaders, who lead in alignment of different callings, unique giftings, and with the same humble spirit and same desire for embodying the way of Jesus and to walk with the body.
